Winter arrived to Lake District early
It's cloudy and windy and cold outside and feels more like February than middle of August really so this picture was obviously not taken today. Few weeks ago we were walking in the fells outside of Coniston. This is the view from Buck Pike, overlooking Brown Pike and Blind Tarn. In the background you can see Coniston Water, lake made famous by Donald Campbell in the 1950's when he broke water speed records on it. He died in a crash on the lake in 1966 trying to break the 300 mph mark.
